I am officially OUT OF THE CLOSET!!

Now let me clarify to you that my coming out of the closet means only that I have finally determined that I should let my family and wife know that I am........an aspiring author. Don't worry Dad (even though I know you aren't reading this), it is not as bad as you think, I just love writing. I have always loved literature and poetry and a good love story; however, I am 100% masculine and in love with my beautiful wife and children and they will always be number 1!

I must confess that the writing bug hit me while in my early years in high school and it has stuck with me ever sense. I think it was when I first read Twain's "Huckleberry Finn", that I realized that I loved literature and I wanted to one day write a novel or multiple and express to the world what is inside my head.

After high school I went off to my mission in Guatemala and all my focus was on teaching and learning the language and immediately after I came home all my focus went to my schooling and girls. (Not in that particular order) Recently with the major change in careers from the restaurant industry to the I've-had-four-jobs-in-a-year industry, I have been able to be extremely humbled and learn that life is about only a few precious things. Those 'THINGS' I cannot confess I have totally figured out and much less mastered; nonetheless, I know now the things that are NOT important in life and at least I know in what direction I need to go.

I will have some interesting points to relay to you from this blog; most importantly some previews to my first novel: "The Adventures of the Roux", which I hope to be in publication with the next nine months. I have been working on the book now for about seven months and it is consuming alot of my imagination and I am extremely excited about it. When you read it closely, some of you friends of mine out there might see some similarities in the characters to that of your own. We shall see!

Someone once said "It is better to try and fail then to never try at all", and I am determined to at least try and try and try again. I hope you will peruse this blog often and tell everyone you know that the New York Times Best-Seller list better leave a spot for J.D. Dran (i changed the last name for pronuciation reasons) cause I will arrive soon!!
